Position Overview
Ensuring equity for all learners, the Response to Intervention (RTI) Coordinator will work alongside other leadership team members to create and execute a comprehensive program to identify and remediate academically struggling students. They will collaborate with the Multi-Tier System of Supports (MTSS) team, Special Education, and English Learner (EL) departments to ensure the needs of all students are met. The RTI Coordinator will organize and supervise all interventionists and reading/math specialists, and directly report to the School Principal.

Position Overview

The RTI Coordinator will organize and supervise all interventionists and reading/math specialists, and directly report to the School Principal.
Roles/Responsibilities
Intervention
- Analyze data from annual summative testing and collaborate with teachers and parents to identify students in need of academic support;
- Coordinate with interventionists, reading/math specialists, and teacher aides to create leveled student groupings and building intervention schedules;
- Collaborate with interventionists to plan goals and content for 8-week RTI cycles;
- Create, teach, and monitor use of regular progress monitoring assessments to track students progress throughout the RTI cycle;
- Collect and share growth and attainment data with MTSS team;
- Plan and execute small group and individual interventions for students in caseload.
Special Education
- Make recommendations to Special Education department for eligible students who have received RTI interventions;
- Coordinate RTI interventions support for students needing compensatory services and/or to establish need for evaluation;
- Support Special Education department in the creation of IEPs and 504 plans for students in RTI;
- When appropriate, coordinate or provide services in alignment with IEP goals for special education students;
- Helps plan staff professional development activities with School Principal to support teacher’s use of academic interventions within the classroom;
- Collaborate with the Culture Team to address social-emotional barriers to learning which impact RTI students.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (Education or Special Education preferred);
- 2+ years full time teaching experience;
- Demonstrated success addressing student learning needs, particularly for academically struggling students;
- Ability to attend annual summer off-site professional development;
- Understanding of state and federal requirements specific to your position;
- Ability to assess grade level needs in order to plan and organize accordingly;
- Experience and/or demonstrated success leading a team of individuals;
- Expert-level written and oral communication skills;
- Strong interpersonal and team building skills;
- Strong ability to work with flexibility;
- Excellent organization skills and consistency in meeting deadlines;
- Experience working in urban environments;
- Strong knowledge of pedagogy and experience teaching strategies to support all learners;
- Microsoft Office and Google Suite proficiency;
- Language: English proficiency required; bilingual in Spanish preferred;
- Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to sit and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus;
